Monday Sessions

Bíonn dhá insint ar scéal agus dhá leagan déag ar amhrán
(There are two versions to a story and twelve arrangements to a song)

Every Monday night (with the exception of public holidays) the Celtic Music Club hosts a music session upstairs at the Irish Club, which is located at 13-15 Carrington St, Adelaide. Bring along an instrument and join in the craic! Musicians at the session range from beginner level to very experienced players. Or, come along for a drink and an evening of good music.

The session runs from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm with a short tea break around 9:00 pm and the bar is open from 7:45 pm.

To help cover our costs we ask that non-members pay a $3 donation at the door.

Each week the session is lead by different musicians and their selected tune list is posted under “Hot off the Press” and also sent out by email prior to the session. To join the mailing list contact Brian by email at

We hold a SLOW SESSION for the benefit of new musicians or those that might be learning a new instrument on the first Monday of each month starting at 7:15 pm and running through to the start of the main session at 8:00 pm.

Please keep in mind that we are primarily a folk band, so non-electric instruments are preferred.

A BIG shout out to the groups Seisiún Beag & Comhaltas, Arline, Rob Norman, Georgette, Allan, Erin, Nina and the various others who have taken turns at leading the sessions!

The tune books we currently use can be found on the DOWNLOADS page in the menu above, along with some extra tunes we play regularly.
