May is History Month and we are once again celebrating the contributions that Irish, Cornish and other Celtic peoples have made to the development of South Australia.
This year is also the 50th anniversary of the formation of the Celtic Music Club and the holding of the bush dances (céilí) at the Irish Hall in Adelaide.
Brian Samuels has written a short history of the dances which can be found here: https://cmcadelaide.com/brief-history-of-bush-dancing/
Join us on Saturday 16th May for this special event.
As always, the music will be provided by the CMC Céilí Band which still features some of the people who played at those first dances.
Most of the dances are called by expert callers and no experience is necessary to join in the fun. The dances are a great night out for families.
Doors open at 7 pm
Dancing starts at 7:30 and runs through to 10:30 with a short break for tea and coffee
BYO snacks
Bar facilities are available from 7 pm (EFTPOS transactions only)
